MESSAGE FROM THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Aloha Kai O' Pua ʻOhana,
Board elections are coming up, and every member plays a part. A new Executive Board is coming in and will appoint Directors and Advisors for the Board
This past racing season showed what our club can do when everyone pulls together. Paddlers, coaches, families, and volunteers all stepped up, from rigging and hauling canoes to cheering from the beach. We need to build on that energy.
Whether you're interested in serving on the board or not, your involvement matters. Our leaders need to see members engaged, sharing ideas and showing up. That support is what keeps a club like ours moving in the right direction.
Here's what we're asking of each member:
Suggest a candidate
Think about who would contribute to strong leadership for our club. It might be the paddler who's always first to rig, someone who brings people together, or someone with work skills that would help the club. Send their name to Nancye Capri at nancyehawaii@msn.com .
Talk to them- if you think someone would be a good fit, ask them. Hearing it from a fellow paddler often makes a difference. Consider running yourself; please contact Nancye at nancyehawaii@msn.com
If you care about where Kai O' Pua is headed, think seriously about stepping up. A love for the club, the sport, and a willingness to help matter more than experience.

The election meeting is on November 16, 2026, at our Halau. Registration at 5:00 pm. The meeting starts at 5:30PM. Candidates will speak briefly, and then we'll vote. Your Club needs you there.
Positions open this year: President, 1st Vice President,2nd Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
